For most visitors, Lindos is the
area with the greatest archaeological interest. Built on a steep cliff 116 meters, is a true balcony
overlooking the sea.
To go up Acropolis hill takes
about 15 minutes walking. The medieval walls are the first who will see. These
fortifications had built by the Crusaders (early 14th century) . Along the
walls you will see some towers that are in harmony with the natural contours.
In the sacred rock of the Acropolis of Lindos
you can see the chivalric walls, Hellenistic platform, altars and statues
bases, Hellenistic arcade, a relief ship, the Temple of Athena, a temple of St.
John the 13th century . And of course we cant forget to mention the spectacular
view which combines the lindos village with the blue sea.
